Everyone is a Princess at Hawthorn's Dressbarn--and a Giveaway! (Ends 10/17/2012)

Sunday, October 7, 2012

Last month, we spent a morning away from our girls and visiting the new dressbarn at Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills. Kat and I had never been to a dressbarn before so we did not know what to expect. The was store was absolutely beautiful and the manager, Orquidia, is a gem!

Here is a peek at what we learned:

Dressbarn stresses that everyone is beautiful. In fact, one of their mottos is "Inspiring women to look and feel beautiful." The dressbarn carries a wide variety of styles from casual to formal to business in many color schemes so everyone can find a treasure there.

Some dressbarns can create personal shopping experiences for you and your friends. You can set up a time with the store manager for you to have the store opened up just for you and your crew. If you provide the store manager with sizes, she can have special items pulled aside for you. Of course, you can also have snacks to make for a nice evening! Also, there is no pressure to buy--just enjoy feeling like a princess! Dressbarn will also give you useful fashion tips and there may be some discounts as well!

We were introduced to the blushPERKS program at the dressbarn. With the blushPERKS program, you earn credits for every $25 you spend in a single transaction (1 point for each $25). Once you have earned 10 points, you will receive a $15 reward to be spent at the store. The great thing about this program--it costs nothing to join. So, if you are buying some lovelies from dressbarn, it can only help you to join!

Another motto that is definitely lived by at the dressbarn in Vernon Hills is "You can't control how a customer feels when she walks in, but you can control how she feels when she walks out."  Orquidia's exuberance about helping the customer shows how much she takes this to heart. While we were there, Orquidia fielded a number of calls from customers from other local dressbarns that she worked at to ask for her advice or even just to say hi! It just shows how a store under her direction lives up to this motto.

Mel's take: Admittedly, I was one of those people that thought dressbarn to be "a barn full of dresses." However, I see that it is much more. The clothing was very stylish--and actually appeared to have something for everyone. The prices were good and there were a number of great promotions going on. Orquidia and her staff are great--very personable, friendly, and dedicated to making their customers feel welcome. We did have a snafu during the course of getting this review together. However, Orquidia went above and beyond in order to make sure that it worked out. And it did!

Kat's take: I was pleasantly surprised to visit the new Vernon Hills dressbarn. It was bright, clean, with attractively-displayed merchandise. The topper was the huge, luxurious dressing room area - wow! It was impressive.

Now, for a treat. Dressbarn has so generously provided us with a $25 dressbarn gift card to give to one lucky reader so she, too, can experience a little beautifying by dressbarn! The giveaway will be running from 10/07/12-10/17/12. For information on entering, see below:
