While we were in the French Quarter of New Orleans, we had the pleasure of staying at Bienville House Hotel. Since we had never visited New Orleans before, we were not sure where to stay. With a kid in toe, proximity to the French Quarter would be nice. Well, we achieved that and more at the Bienville House Hotel!

The Bienville House Hotel is a bit on the edge of the French Quarter. However, everything is within a comfortable walking distance. When we first entered, we were definitely captured by the hotel's charm.

We did not have to find parking as a valet parked our car for us---always nice when in a city. There was a parking fee. However, we appreciated not having to find parking on our own. Plus, it was nice to have the car brought to the front of the hotel when it was time to leave instead of walking across a lot.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The lobby itself is small but impressive. We enjoyed looking around at the decor.

Each time we returned to our hotel, the lobby's ambiance continued to carry the spirit of New Orleans. Sometimes, hotel lobby's can be a bit sterile and not at all reminiscent of your travel location---not so here! We loved our room and found it to be spacious enough for a family. Plus, we had a view of the French Quarter, which my daughter loved.

The most stunning part of the hotel is without contest the pool. In fact, the pool is situated in a peaceful grotto surrounded by some beautiful foliage.

The hotel provides a small continental breakfast in the morning. Many of the guests preferred to take this breakfast out to the pool area to have some serenity to start the day. If you miss the breakfast, the hotel does have some delightful cookies and lemonade in the afternoon. Ahhhhhh.....a little snack by the pool!

Bienville House Hotel is situated on Decatur Street which goes through the heart of the French Quarter. In fact, the famed Cafe du Monde is just down the road! Since we were in New Orleans during Halloween, we were able to watch the Halloween parade from the front of the hotel. You can't get any easier than that!

While we were preparing to leave, my daughter declared that she would miss the hotel expressing that it was located on her favorite block in all of New Orleans. Why you may ask? Well, Bienville House Hotel is right next to Southern Candymakers where they make pralines right before your eyes! To say that the place smelled heavenly does not do it justice!

Other amenities include an onsite restaurant (closed Sunday and Tuesday) and complimentary Wifi. Plus, the hotel is pet-friendly! The hotel is a short walk from the lively Jackson Square, Cafe du Monde, the Mississippi River, shopping and many restaurants.
